Whitchurch v Ivybridge U15’s
Whitchurch’s captain Nathan Ord won the toss and elected to bowl on what turned out to be
A very pleasant sunny evening. Due to other commitments Whitchurch could only field a
Team of nine which turned out to be a big advantage to the away team.
Ivybridge’s opening batsmen Ben Privet and Abraham Kopparambil set about the bowlers from
Ball one, Kopparambil in particular dispatching pace bowler Ben Prout to various parts of the
ground on his way to a fine 51 not out. After 10 overs Ivybridge had raced to 90 for the loss of
only two wickets. With the prospect of chasing a big score Whitchurch’s change bowlers, Aidan
Hall, Alex Rich and captain Nathan Ord all produced great spells of bowling restricting Ivybridge
To only another 28 runs of the last 10 overs. Alex Rich being the pick of the bowlers with 3/11
of his 4 overs. Ivybridge finishing on 118 all out.
Whitchurch’s opening batsmen Ben Prout and Tom Pearson set about chasing the 119 runs to
Win, helped along the way by some very wayward Ivybridge bowling. With the score on 56 for 2
Up stepped the very talented Abraham Kopparambil with his spin bowling,in the space of 2
overs he reduced Whitchurch to 58 for 5. Left handed Aidan Hall and Alex Rich set about re-buildingthe innings Hall in particular playing some lovely cover drives and sweep shots added a
partnership of 37 runs. With the fall of Halls wicket the game was soon over. Whitchurch finished
on 102 for 8.
This was a very good game, which included one talented young man, man of the match

Whitchurch u15s v Buckland u15s

This was the u15s first game of the season, Nathan won the toss and elected to bowl on a very green wicket,
From the first ball Whitchurch’s bowlers where in control thanks to a fine opening spell from Ben Prout, who took
2 wickets without conceding a run, but Louis Huggins returning to the team after a short break produced a great spell,
Showing what can be achieved by bowling a good line and length, great effort young man.
Whitchurch’s first and second change bowlers Aidan Hall and Nathan Prout also bowled really well restricting
Bucklands batsmen to a few hard fought runs, Alex Rich continued where he left off last year by taking the last
Two wickets. Buckland all out for 41. This was a great bowling and fielding display from our lads.
With a small total to chase, Whitchurch’s batting order was changed in order to give everyone a chance. Regular opener
Tom Pearson stayed around and steadied the ship after the boys lost a couple of quick wickets. Nathan Prout one of
The u13s up and coming player scored a very nervous 11 including a top edged six over fine leg. Luke Lewondoski and
Aidan Hall saw Whitchurch home with some good batting and excellent running between wickets, Aidan hitting a four to
Win the match.
